CAPITALIZATION

Letters written in the upper case (a term derived from the location they occupied in printers' cabinets); used when referring to the first person singular in the subject form, at the start of a proper noun, in acronyms, and at the beginning of a sentence; when typing, required the considerable exertion of holding down two keys at once. (NB: Not an indication of yelling.) According to a 2005 study conducted by Norwegian researcher Richard Ling, less than 20 percent of text messages contain any sort of upper case letters. A heating element located on the dashboard, introduced into cars in the 1920s and used exclusively to light cigars and cigarettes; sworn enemy of the air freshener.
